Abstract

Volume 122 • Number 1

Spring 2009

From the Editor

I am honored to assume the editorship of The American Journal of Psychology (AJP). Established in 1887, AJP was the first English-language journal devoted to experimental psychology, and consequently it is also the longest-running continuous journal. This history of AJP, which spans the development of the field of psychology from its earliest days to the present, is a heritage that few journals can come close to matching. With this issue, AJP takes on a new cover and format design intended to emphasize a commitment to contemporary relevance. The journal continues to be rooted in the achievements of the past while looking to the future of the field.
